Deep Under by Tanya Chris is a short story about Maddox, a cop, and Jack, a criminal. During a routine traffic stop, Jack and Maddox start their dangerous walk of being bedmates by night and on the opposite sides of the law during the day. Maddox worries that he can’t trust a man with Jack’s past and Jack isn’t sure he wants Maddox to.Deep Under has themes of BDSM and is a MM romance. While This is a short story of only 73 pages, I found myself drawn into the book and quite enjoying the interaction between Maddox, who is the Dominant and Jack, who is the submissive. There were quite a few twists and turns during the book and I found myself wondering if they would find their Happily Ever After, or at least their Happily For Now. I will say that the surprise at the end about Jack came as a shock and I was happy to see it work out the way it did.
What I would like to see from this book though is for Tanya Chris to expand it. I would like to know more about Jack and Maddox such as their history, what brought them to where they are and how they became the type of people that they are today. Maybe either expand this story or write a sequel to it?
All in all, I enjoyed this and think others would as well.
